Automatic Finger Joint Press Machine

The Automatic Finger Joint Press Machine is an automated woodworking machine that cuts and presses interlocking "finger" profiles on board ends to form long, strong finger-jointed boards. It automates cutting, gluing and pressing steps to deliver consistent, high-strength joints for furniture, beams, cabinets and panel production.

Core specs: electrical power source, rated voltage 380 V, total power 62 kW, machine weight approx. 10,000 kg, conveyor belt motor 400 W, working air pressure 0.6–0.8 MPa (6–8 bar), saw blade diameter 355 mm, saw shaft speed 3,700 RPM. PLC control with components including engine, bearings, gearbox, motor and pressure vessel.

Maximum machining length 850 mm and minimum length 150 mm. Width range: 450–580 mm. Height (thickness) range: 22–150 mm. Pieces must fall within these ranges for reliable jointing.

It is suitable for a wide range of solid woods and engineered wood products commonly used in furniture and construction. For best results use material with stable moisture content and consistent density. Highly resinous, very wet or contaminated material may require pre-treatment—confirm with supplier for specific species.

Electrical: three-phase 380 V supply and sufficient service capacity for 62 kW rated power. Compressed air: 0.6–0.8 MPa (6–8 bar) stable supply for pneumatic actuators and pressure vessel. Local electrical protection and compliant pneumatic filtration/regulation are recommended.

The machine uses PLC-based controls with user-friendly HMI (operator interface). It is designed for straightforward operation—program setup for joint parameters, automated feed and pressing. Operators should be trained on the HMI, safety procedures and routine adjustments.

Expected safety features include guarded saw areas, emergency stop buttons, interlocks on access panels and safe control zoning. Operators should receive training on safe startup/shutdown, lockout/tagout, blade handling and routine maintenance procedures before use.

Daily: clean dust and glue residues, inspect guards, check air/oil leaks and conveyor operation. Weekly/monthly: check and lubricate bearings, gearbox and moving parts, inspect saw blade condition and tension, verify PLC/controls. Replace consumables (blades, belts, seals) as needed and schedule periodic professional servicing.

The machine uses a 355 mm diameter saw blade running at 3,700 RPM. Use blades specified for finger-joint cutting with recommended tooth geometry and material. Replace blades when dull or damaged to maintain cut quality and reduce stress on the drive system. Always follow safety procedures when changing blades.

Throughput depends on piece length, glue cure time, joint profile and line configuration. The machine is designed for high-volume, continuous production suitable for commercial operations. For accurate throughput estimates and cycle times for your product, provide sample dimensions and production requirements to the supplier for calculation.

Machine shipment package size is listed as 610 x 190 x 190 cm. Machine weight is approximately 10,000 kg—installation will typically require a solid floor or foundation, forklift/crane for placement, and professional electrical and pneumatic hookups. Allow extra clearance around the machine for maintenance and material handling.

Yes. Common spare parts include saw blades, bearings, seals, belts and electrical components. The PLC and major components (gearbox, motor) are standard industrial parts. It is recommended to keep critical consumables and wear parts in stock and confirm lead times with the supplier.

Yes. Typical customizations include different joint profiles, extended length handling, additional automation (infeed/outfeed conveyors), glue systems, and upgraded PLC/HMI packages. Discuss your production needs with the manufacturer to configure the correct options.

Warranty and support vary by manufacturer and seller. Most suppliers offer a warranty period covering defects, spare parts availability and optional installation/commissioning and operator training packages. Confirm warranty length, service contracts and training options before purchase.

The machine is sold as a single item and shipped in packaged/crated form (package size listed 610 x 190 x 190 cm). Check delivered crates for damage, verify component list against packing documents, note gross/package weights with the carrier and coordinate with the supplier for assembly, on-site commissioning and any missing parts. Confirm logistics due to heavy weight and size.
