GCB40 Box type SB10 hydraulic hammer hydraulic breaker

The GCB40 Box type SB10 is a compact hydraulic breaker (also called hydraulic hammer) in GooChance's lineup. It is the Box/Silenced type designed for low-noise operation, full-closed protection of the main body, and enhanced durability for small excavator applications.

SB10/GCB40 is intended for small excavators and carriers typically in the 0.8–2.5 ton class. Confirm compatibility by matching your excavator's hydraulic flow and pressure to the breaker’s recommended operating range.

Typical specs for SB10/GCB40 are: chisel diameter ~40 mm, recommended excavator weight 0.8–2.5 t, approximate body weight ~73 kg, recommended working flow 15–30 L/min, working pressure 90–120 bar, and impact rate around 800–1,400 bpm. Always verify the exact spec sheet for your unit before operation.

Box/Silenced Type means the breaker has a fully enclosed housing with integrated sound insulation. Benefits include reduced noise emissions, protection of internal components from dust/debris, improved energy efficiency, and generally longer service life in urban or noise-sensitive jobs.

Side type has a shorter overall length and is maintenance-free with easy hook-back; it’s versatile for general demolition and roadwork. Top type is lighter, easier to position at steep angles and reduces drill-rod breakage risk. Box/Silenced type focuses on noise reduction and body protection for tougher or noise-sensitive environments.

The SB10/GCB40 typically requires about 15–30 L/min flow and 90–120 bar working pressure. Make sure your excavator’s hydraulic system can deliver stable flow and pressure within these ranges for reliable performance.

Routine maintenance includes: regular tool (chisel) lubrication, checking and tightening mounting bolts, inspecting hydraulic hoses and fittings for leaks, replacing worn bushings/seals, and keeping the sound enclosure clean. Although some Side models are described as maintenance-free, all breakers benefit from regular checks to maximize life and safety.

Common causes: insufficient hydraulic flow/pressure, air in the hydraulic circuit, worn chisel or bushings, leaking seals, or clogged filters. Fixes: verify machine hydraulic settings, bleed air, replace worn consumables (chisel, bushings, seals), and check/replace hydraulic filters.

Recommended spares: chisels/tools, tool retainers, bushings, seal kits, accumulator components (if fitted), mounting brackets/pins, and hydraulic hoses or fittings. Keep a chisel matched to your job types (moil, blunt, etc.).

The Box/Silenced design significantly reduces operational noise compared with open-frame breakers. However, it will still produce impact noise — use hearing protection and follow local noise regulations. The enclosure also helps protect the main body from debris.

Installation generally requires the correct mounting bracket/pins for your carrier, secure hydraulic hose connections sized to the breaker, and setting machine flow/pressure to the breaker’s recommended range. Follow the manufacturer’s installation guide and have a qualified technician perform the mount and hydraulic hookups.

Yes — common tools include moil (point), blunt, and wide chisel types for rock breaking, demolition and trenching. Choose tool type and diameter appropriate for the model (SB10/GCB40 uses ~40 mm tools) and the job at hand.

Wear appropriate PPE (eye, ear, gloves, helmet), ensure the carrier is stable and brakes are set, never operate with people within the hazard zone, depressurize hydraulic lines before maintenance, and follow lockout/tagout procedures. Always read the operator manual before use.

Warranty terms vary by dealer, region, and purchase agreement. Contact your GooChance dealer or the seller you purchased from for specific warranty coverage, authorized service centers and genuine spare parts. Keep the product serial number and purchase proof handy.

Yes — depending on the tool type and excavator size, the GCB40 Box type SB10 can be used for light rock breaking, concrete or pavement demolition and similar small-scale tasks. For heavier demolition or large rock, select a larger breaker model from the GooChance range.
