Automatic Running Small Footprint Volute Sludge Dewatering Machine for Industrial Wastewater Treatment

It is an automated volute-type dewatering press designed to remove excess water from sludge generated in industrial and municipal wastewater treatment, producing a drier, more easily handled sludge cake while occupying a small floor area.

The unit has a productivity of 100–140 kg/h dry solids (DS). Actual throughput depends on feed sludge concentration and conditioning (chemical dosing, polymer type).

DS stands for dry solids — the mass of solids in the sludge after water has been removed. Capacity listed (100–140 kg/h DS) is the rate of solids the machine can dewater, not the wet sludge flow rate.

Single package size is 358 × 132 × 176 cm and the single gross weight is 2000 kg. The machine is designed for a compact footprint; final installation footprint should include clearance for service access and peripheral equipment (pumps, polymer dosing, piping).

It is suitable for many industrial and municipal sludges including food & beverage, pharmaceuticals, pulp & paper, and general industrial wastewater sludges. Performance varies with sludge characteristics; highly abrasive or chemically aggressive sludges should be reviewed prior to selection.

Cake dryness depends on sludge properties and conditioning (polymer type/dose, retention time). Volute dewatering equipment commonly achieves cake solids in a wide range (often in the high teens to mid-20s % DS or better), but exact values require feed testing and may vary.

The machine requires electrical power for the motor(s), PLC control, and any auxiliary pumps. It may also require a conditioned water supply for washdown and a polymer dosing system (if used). Concrete or steel support capable of bearing the 2000 kg unit plus dynamic loads is recommended. Exact electrical ratings and utility needs are provided on the technical datasheet/nameplate.

Yes — the unit features automated operation and is PLC-controlled. Integration with plant SCADA or external control systems is typically possible; communication protocols and I/O options can be configured to customer requirements.

Core components listed include gearbox, pressure vessel, pump, gears, bearings, engine/motor, and PLC. Wear parts typically include bearings, seals, gaskets, volute elements and pump components; these items are consumable and should be maintained or replaced per operating hours and condition.

Routine maintenance includes daily visual checks, periodic lubrication of bearings and gearbox per manufacturer schedule, inspection of seals and wear parts, cleaning of feed lines and volute elements, and annual or biannual detailed inspections. A preventive maintenance schedule should be established based on operating hours and sludge abrasiveness.

Many applications will benefit from polymer/flocculant conditioning to improve dewatering performance. Polymer dosing equipment may be provided as an option or supplied separately. Polymer type and dose should be determined by jar testing and pilot trials.

Available customizations often include motor/gearbox ratings, control and communication options, polymer dosing integration, feed hoppers or conveyors, material and coating options, and customizable paint color. Discuss specific requirements with the supplier to configure the unit.

The machine ships as a single packaged unit (358 × 132 × 176 cm, ~2000 kg). Minimum order quantity is 1 set. Transport method depends on destination and can include container, flat rack or breakbulk; shipping details and costs are provided by the supplier.

Typical safety features include emergency stop, mechanical guards over moving parts, electrical interlocks and PLC alarms. The supplier can provide operation and maintenance manuals and may offer operator and maintenance training packages. Local regulatory and site safety practices must also be followed.

Warranty terms, spare parts availability and after-sales service options vary by supplier. Most manufacturers provide a standard warranty and offer spare parts kits and service contracts.
