The MG300/700-WD is an AC variable-frequency electric traction seam shearer series designed for mechanized coal face mining or caving. It uses multi-motor horizontal drive, chainless pin-rail traction and is suitable for integration with hydraulic supports and face conveyors.
The series is offered with total installed power options of approximately 498.5 kW, 598.5 kW and 698.5 kW. Typical configuration shown is 2×300 kW cutting motors + 2×40 kW traction motors + an 18.5 kW auxiliary motor (total 698.5 kW). Earlier variants use 2×200 kW or 2×250 kW cutting motors.
Drum diameters available: Φ1400, Φ1600, Φ1800, Φ2000. Cutting power (example high‑power configuration) is 2×300 kW. Drum speed is 31.4 r/min. Rocker arm length is 2267 mm with a swing angle of -16.3° to +48.1°. Typical cut depth is 630 mm and undercut amount for Φ2000 drum is 320 mm.
The shearer is suitable for mining heights from 1.8 m to 4.0 m. Maximum mining height listed is 4000 mm (when fitted with a Φ2000 drum). Plane height is 1426 mm and coal pass height is 650 mm.
Traction motors are 2×40 kW (AC asynchronous), providing a traction force up to 520 kN. Traction is AC variable-frequency controlled with a speed range of 0–7.26 m/min and chainless pin-rail type drive.
Designed for use where coal dust and methane concentrations do not exceed limits in coal mine safety regulations. Suitable for altitudes ≤2000 m, ambient temperatures −5 °C to +40 °C, and relative humidity up to 95% at +25 °C.
The shearer is compatible with SGZ730 and SGZ764 series face conveyors and can be used with corresponding hydraulic supports, single hydraulic pillars, long steel beams or metal hinge beams for different mining methods.
The machine uses internal and external spray systems. Cooling is provided separately for each motor, the electric control box, the rocker arm, and the height‑adjusted fuel tank to ensure reliable thermal management.
Yes. Major components (control box, transformer, pumps, valves, etc.) are arranged for easy access and removal from the side to simplify repair and replacement. The traction gearbox and drive components use modular designs and high‑strength hydraulic bolt connections.
The shearer is suitable for seam inclinations up to 45° and is rated for coal hardness roughly in the f2–f3 range.
Typical machine weight is about 42 tonnes. Maximum non-removable assembly size is listed as 3220 × 1030 × 830 mm — heavy‑lift equipment and professional installation crews are required for transport and setup.
Larger drum diameters (up to Φ2000) allow higher maximum mining heights and larger undercuts, while smaller drums may be used for lower seams or to reduce cutting torque. Selection should match seam height, desired cut depth and available motor power.
The shearer uses AC variable-frequency control for smooth traction and speed regulation, multi-motor drive for redundancy, high-strength hydraulic bolt connections and conforms to usage limits in coal mine safety regulations for methane and dust. Standard mine safety systems (gas detection, ventilation, grounding, emergency stops) must also be installed per local regulations.
Typical consumables include cutting picks/teeth for the drum, rocker-pin and cutter linkage components, hydraulic bolts and seals, traction motor brushes/parts (if applicable) and control electronics spares. Keep critical electrical and hydraulic components on hand to minimize downtime.
