KH rubber hose pump industrial hose pump for sticky liquids conveying

The KH rubber hose pump is an industrial hose (peristaltic-style) pump designed to convey sticky, viscous, abrasive and corrosive liquids. Typical applications include construction (cement, mortar, plaster), mining (slurry, tailings), water/wastewater (sewage, sludge), chemical processing, food and beverage, brewing, pharmaceuticals, textiles, paper/printing, ceramics/glass and OEM/custom equipment.

The pump compresses a flexible rubber hose between a rotor and an occluding element (rollers or shoes). The compression creates a sealed pocket that moves along the hose, carrying fluid from the suction side to the discharge side. This valve-less design prevents backflow and gives a stable, pulsation-minimized flow.

Key advantages are valve-less operation (no backflow), stable pumping of viscous and particulate-laden fluids, strong self-priming capability, simple maintenance with few wear parts (the hose is the primary wear item), reversible operation to clear blockages, and the ability to interchange suction and discharge ports.

It handles sticky and viscous fluids, slurries with solids, corrosive chemicals, precipitates, inks, glazes, food products (juices, cream, chocolate), sludges, and other challenging liquids. For aggressive chemicals or food/pharma applications, request compatible hose compounds (chemical-resistant or food-grade).

Hose life depends on fluid abrasiveness, viscosity, operating pressure, speed and temperature. In abrasive or high-pressure service the hose will wear faster. The hose is the primary wearable part and is designed for straightforward replacement. For an accurate estimate, provide operating conditions so the manufacturer can recommend a hose compound and expected service life.

Hose pumps can tolerate short periods of dry running better than many other pump types, but continuous dry running will accelerate hose wear and can cause damage. Follow manufacturer guidelines for permitted dry-run duration and recommended operating procedures.

Yes — the KH hose pump has strong self-suction (self-priming) capability. It also supports reversible operation so you can reverse the rotor direction to discharge blockages or clear obstructions.

Yes. The pump design allows free exchange of suction inlet and discharge outlet, which increases installation flexibility.

Models cover a wide range of capacities and solids-handling capability. Depending on the model, flows range from small fractional m3/hr to tens of m3/hr and maximum particle/aggregate sizes are model-dependent (standard options handle small to very large solids). Provide your required flow and maximum particle size to get a recommended model and the exact specs.

The KH series is offered in multiple models with different rated powers and rated pressures to match application needs. Exact power and pressure ratings are model-dependent. Contact the supplier with your desired flow rate and discharge pressure so they can recommend the correct model and motor size.

Yes — by selecting the appropriate hose compound and pump materials, the KH pump can be configured for corrosive chemicals or food/pharmaceutical service. For food or pharma applications, request certified food-grade hose materials and sanitary options where required.

Maintenance is straightforward. The hose is the main wear item and is easy to replace. Other common spare parts to keep are hoses (appropriate compound and size), rotor components (rollers or shoes), seals and bearings. The pump’s simple construction leads to lower fault rates and convenient servicing.

Yes. The manufacturer offers OEM and customized pump manufacturing for industrial corollary equipment. Customization can include special hose compounds, materials of construction, motor/drives, flanges, and configuration to meet application-specific requirements.

Ensure proper anchoring and alignment of the pump and drive, correct piping supports to avoid loading the pump ports, and adequate access for hose replacement. Verify electrical supply and motor matching. Follow manufacturer installation and startup instructions, and prime/school the pump as recommended if required.

For model-specific specifications (flow, pressure, power, max solids, suction lift, temperature limits), available hose materials, certifications (e.g., food-grade, ATEX), and warranty terms, contact the supplier or manufacturer with your application details so they can provide datasheets and commercial terms.
