The DOUBLE 100 (QH-Coat series) is an automatic UV coater designed to apply varnish coatings to printed sheets. It’s aimed at both digital press and traditional offset users to upgrade print quality by applying UV, aqueous and primer coatings for a glossy, matt or textured finish.
The machine supports UV, aqueous and primer coatings. A texture effect is available as an option. For wax-based toner prints, a free‑standing Preheat-IR unit (optional) is recommended before coating.
QH-Coat models are available in three widths: 18" (480 mm), 24" (650 mm) and 36" (900 mm), covering small to medium sheet sizes.
Typical specs by model: 18" (480 mm) — min thickness 180 g, max thickness 300 g, speed 0–18 m/min, power 2500 W. 24" (650 mm) — min thickness 180 g, max thickness listed as 800 g/300 g (consult supplier for clarification per configuration), speed 0–9 m/min, power 3500 W. 36" (900 mm) — min thickness 180 g, max thickness 300 g, speed 0–9 m/min, power 3500 W.
Standard operation uses manual feeding. Optional motorized feeder and stacker units are available. The machine includes a paper stopper system to ensure tidy and consistent output.
Curing is done with a UV lamp (one lamp per unit). The machine guides the sheet through the coating and curing zones to ensure uniform cure.
Available options include a feeder, stacker, corona treatment, texture-effect module, and a free‑standing Preheat-IR unit for wax‑based toner applications. Ask your supplier about configuration packages.
The machine includes a light shade system to protect operators from harmful UV light exposure. Standard safety best practices — operator training, eye protection, and appropriate ventilation — are recommended.
Key maintenance items include cleaning and inspecting the nylon conveyor belt, checking and adjusting the doctor blade, maintaining the pump circulation system, monitoring belt alignment (belt deviation system), and periodic UV lamp checks/replacement. Regular cleaning prevents cure buildup and ensures consistent coating quality.
The coater is intended for a wide variety of paper and print substrates used in digital and offset printing. For specialty substrates (plastics, heavy boards, films), or unusual surface chemistries, consult the supplier to confirm compatibility and necessary pre-treatment.
Consistency depends on coating formulation, doctor blade/wheel adjustments, material thickness settings, and proper curing. Use the adjustable wheels and doctor blade to set coating thickness, ensure correct belt tension and feed, and verify UV cure parameters and coating viscosity.
Packaged weights and dimensions (as provided): 18" model — 285 kg; package dimension 950*150*132 cm; 24" model — 350 kg; package dimension 112*200*132 cm; 36" model — 465 kg; package dimension 140*200*132 cm. Power ratings: 18" 2500 W; 24" and 36" 3500 W. Confirm exact installation electrical and space requirements with the supplier or installer.
The QH-Coat series is positioned as an economical, low-cost UV coating solution ideal for small to medium production runs. The 18" model offers higher top speed (up to 18 m/min) for faster throughput; 24" and 36" models run up to 9 m/min. For heavy industrial/continuous high-volume production, discuss throughput needs with the manufacturer to ensure it meets your targets.
